The long-lasting and "growing" variant of the usual pouring rim with a capacity of up to 140 liters (with a diameter of 95 cm). The pouring rim formed by excavated soil is one of the absolute basics in gardening and landscaping. This method is now being optimized with the GEFA pouring rim.

Robust watering bags are suitable for mobile irrigation for new plantings or for the maintenance of existing trees in drought conditions.
Depending on the product variant, the irrigation bags hold 50 - 60 liters of water. The filling quantity varies depending on the size of the trunk. The water is released directly to the root area through a small opening in the bottom. Depending on the manufacturer, the draining time is approx. 5 - 8 hours per filling.
1. Place the watering bag around the tree. 2. Pull the zipper up to the top. 3. Erect the sack using the loops to allow easy filling. 4. The generously dimensioned filler neck is located on the back. 5. Fill in water using a hose until the irrigation bag is full.
A single irrigation bag is suitable for trees with a trunk circumference of 8 cm - 30 cm.

During the first years after planting, newly planted trees must be watered regularly to encourage deep root growth. Watering should initially focus directly in the root zone.
According to FLL guidelines, a suitable watering basin must be formed, with its inner edge positioned above the outer edge of the root ball. This basin can be created using existing soil. However, prefabricated systems are now available for targeted watering: watering rims, slow-release watering bags, technical tools for water retention, and systems that can be installed during planting to provide medium- and long-term water and air supply.
NOTE: Watering within the planting pit, such as with drainage pipes, is not suitable for the first years after planting.

The background: Some customers reported heat damage to tree trunks caused by green water bags attached directly to the trunk. The water or air between the trunk and the bag can heat up so much that it causes damage. The new irrigation bag GREENDROP® “white” reduces this risk.
Its white color effectively reflects sunlight and prevents the tree trunk from overheating.
In terms of aesthetics, it also offers an advantage – when used in combination with trunk protection paint, it creates a harmonious color scheme.
Efficient ventilation and irrigation are essential for the survival of trees in urban areas, especially in planting pits of construction type 2.
The challenges in urban spaces are well-known: restricted site conditions, overbuilt root zones, disturbed soil conditions, severe compaction, and lack of gas exchange.
With conventional systems, there is a risk that irrigation is carried out through the opening intended for ventilation. This challenge was the starting point for the GEFA LUWA® system. It enables both ventilation and irrigation through a single inlet, ensuring that water does not enter the ventilation pipes. The system separator directs water and air separately into their designated pipes/hoses, preventing the chimney effect.
Providing trees in urban environments with water and air during the establishment phase and beyond is one of the main tasks for planners and practitioners in the green industry.
Lite-Net Water storage net for root supply
The textile water reservoir made of special fleece/felt contains only about 10% material and can store an exceptional amount of air and water in the remaining 90% pores. 1 kg of fleece/felt can store up to 10 liters of water. The reservoir is 100% biodegradable, consisting of 70% PLA (polylactic acids) and 30% cellulose fibers.
The LITE-NET establishment net is placed directly around the root ball to support the tree's establishment. It can be ideally combined with watering rims or irrigation bags to efficiently and evenly transport water to the tree roots.
